2010 Promotion!

Our 2009 Holiday Special offer expired when the Times Square ball dropped but StudioBlu Photography is introducing a new plan which could save you even more money in 2010. Now, we haven’t come up with a catchy name for it yet, but here is how it works: Do you have friends who are also getting married? Well, for every engaged couple that you send our way who book their wedding with StudioBlu we’ll knock $100 off your final wedding fees. Refer, five couples – take $500 off! Ten couples? (You do the math.)

The following paragraph is inserted on the advice of my lawyer: Referred couples have to book and pay their deposit before your account is credited and your credits stop compiling when your final payment is due or two weeks before your wedding date. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer.

I have one couple who have already booked using this offer and insist that by the time their August, 2010 rolls around, I’ll end up paying them!

Our summer schedule is filling up quickly (and the wife and kids are circling weeks on the calendar for our summer vacation) so if you are located nearby, we'd love for you to stop by so we could talk about your wedding in person. If you’re not nearby, please shoot me an email and let me know what dates you’re considering. We usually set up these appointments after 7 p.m. weekdays since we're busy most weekends. And keep in mind that because we're not a high-end wedding photography factory, one of the things we're able to do best is customize packages to suit individual needs and give you personal service. (It's just one of the things that separates StudioBlu Photography from the rest.)

As you know, StudioBlu Photography has been producing wonderful wedding photos for more than three decades. We’re professional, personable, fully-insured and very good at what we do. We don’t just photograph your wedding we also help lead you through the day, step-by-step.

StudioBlu specializes in photojournalism-type wedding coverage, which means we don't do a lot of posed shots. We ask for 20 minutes to be set aside for family shots and then we let you get back to the party. In the end, you receive fun, candid photos of you, your family and your friends enjoying your special day. We also work closely with you and your family before, during and after the wedding to make sure you get the great images you deserve.

When you stop by for your appointment, we'll be able to show you our style, the amount and quality of the photos that we deliver. We’ll let you browse through a complete shoot (more than 500 images) from our most recent wedding – not just the best 50 photos.

We also don't do high-pressure album sales. You probably already know that a lot of the mark-up comes from the albums. Most photographers jack up your costs by selling you items that you don’t need. While we do keep a designer specialist on retainer and we'd be happy to help you design your own album, most of our couples are very happy to take delivery of a photo CD or DVD, produce their own wedding albums and pocket the savings. StudioBlu delivers to you hundreds of high-resolution files suitable for printing up to 16x20 in size. That way, you'll have possession of these images forever.

I could go on and on, but it's much better to talk about your wedding in person. If you have any questions, feel free to email me back or pick up the phone. StudioBlu Photography is a proud member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and the Digital Wedding Forum (DWF). We’re fully insured for event, equipment and liability coverage.

High School Senior Portraits

I’m sure you’ve heard horror stories about how their senior portrait photographer made someone pose in some weird way. We’ve heard them too. Well, we do things a little differently at StudioBlu Photography. (Heck, we wouldn’t want you to make the same mistakes they did.)

At StudioBlu, we’ll listen to your ideas and strategize. Then together we’ll come up with a plan. Our goal will be to create portraits that really show what you are all about. For example, we can photograph you with your athletic gear, your car or truck, your pets or your musical instrument. Wanna climb a big rock and look down. Go for it! In fact, you name it and we’ll take your picture with it!

While there are some advantages to “factory/mall studios” (they are usually pretty cheap), the ability to express your individuality is not one of their strong points. Because they are in the business of moving a lot of people through the studio in a short amount of time, they often tend to photograph subjects in the exact same pose, using the exact same props. But you’re not everyone, are you?

Are we crazy? A little. But here is our reasoning: If you're having fun during your session, your smile is going to be natural and then everyone is going to see it. So, how much?

Senior Portraits - $100 sitting fee with a minimum print order of $100
Yes, we do classic head and shoulder portraits with our studio backgrounds. It’s perfect for the yearbook. We’ll take a bunch of shots and narrow the choice down 12-20 images for you to pick from.

Custom Senior Portraits - $200 sitting fee with a print order of $200
No stuffy studio - your session will be held at your favorite locations. Tell us about your ideas and we’ll work with you to create portraits that really show your style. Up to two-hour photography session. Again, we’ll narrow the photos down to 12-20.

All of the selected photos will be uploaded to a private website for you to order. They are then mailed to your house in about a week. Questions? Pick up the phone or drop us an email. We’ll get back to you with answers.

Unsolicited review off Google: The photographer from StudioBlu was so helpful and fun it was almost like he was an invited guest at my wedding! The photos turned out great and the pricing was very fair. They customized a package just for me and stayed to the very end of the reception. Highly recommend!
